A family-run British business, Made For Drink creates premium bar snacks inspired by drinking cultures from around the world — with a simple ambition: to make snacks that are every bit as interesting as the drinks they're enjoyed alongside.
From a village hall to some of the UK's best food and drink establishments
Made For Drink's story began in 2016, when founder Dan Featherstone and his father started making bar snacks in a local village hall. After testing their creations at The Crown at Bray, the business secured its first listing with The Fat Duck Group.
The idea quickly gathered momentum.
Made For Drink went on to supply names including Fortnum & Mason and Rick Stein, and today its snacks are found across hospitality, retail and independent food and drink businesses.
It's a brilliant example of how a simple idea — make a really good snack to go with a really good drink — can grow into something much bigger.
Snacks designed around the drink
What makes Made For Drink particularly interesting is that the snacks aren't simply created to be eaten on their own.
They're designed around the drinking occasion.
The range draws inspiration from different drinking cultures around the world, while also celebrating British ingredients and flavours. Their current range includes everything from English Truffle Crisps and Dorset Sea Salt Crisps to Chorizo Thins, Biltong and Chicken Salt Fries.
There are some wonderfully unexpected combinations, too.
Their English Truffle Crisps, for example, use English truffles, while their Baron Bigod Cheese & Onion Crisps take inspiration from one of Britain's most distinctive cheeses. Their Dorset Sea Salt Crisps use hand-harvested sea salt from Chesil Beach.
It's that combination of familiar ideas with something unexpected that makes the range so much fun.
Quality starts with the ingredients
Made For Drink says it works with carefully selected suppliers to source quality ingredients, with some of its products made in-house and others produced by close partner producers.
That attention to ingredients is important because these aren't snacks designed to disappear into the background.
They're supposed to add something to the occasion.
