There are few things more British than a great jar of jam — but Single Variety Co. has taken the humble preserve and turned it into something rather special.
Founded by Nicola Elliott in 2016, Single Variety Co. began in her home kitchen, inspired by a passion for exceptional food and a belief that great jam should let the flavour of the fruit speak for itself. What started with weekends spent selling at London farmers' markets has grown into an award-winning family business with its own jam factory in Bristol.
The idea behind the name is beautifully simple: each preserve celebrates a single variety of fruit or chilli, carefully selected for its individual flavour, colour and aroma. The company also uses less sugar than traditional jams, allowing the natural character of the ingredients to shine through.
Today, Nicola runs the business alongside her husband Ross, with a growing team at their Bristol factory. Their products have earned numerous Great Taste Awards, and Single Variety Co. is officially recognised as a Great Taste Producer.
